The bidirectional piston is consistently flexibly abutted against the outer peripheral surface of the transmission camshaft by the drive spring. The transmission camshaft, when working, drives the bidirectional piston to tightly press the drive spring, making it store force. Meanwhile, the overload valve realizes hydraulic oil flowing between the main shaft chamber and the spring chamber. Therefore, during the door closer housing rotates, the transmission camshaft receives the damping effect from the bidirectional piston and the hydraulic oil, lowering the transient door closing speed, so that the cam action hydraulic door closer achieves sufficient buffering when the door closes.
