The analysis apparatus includes a six-pass valve, quantification ring, first stored gas pipe, second stored gas pipe, multi-pass valve, molecular sieve filling pipe, first air source, and detector. The six-pass valve and the multi-pass valve are configured to have a load status bit. A gas under test passes through the molecular sieve to remove non-methane total hydrocarbons such that the treated gas functions as a background gas for filling the first stored gas pipe and the second stored gas pipe. The six-pass valve and the multi-pass valve are configured to have an entered sample status bit such that zero-grade compressed air drives the gas inside the second stored gas pipe, quantification ring, and first stored gas pipe to enter the detector. The background gas inside the second stored gas pipe and the second stored gas pipe provides a baseline.Type: GrantFiled: January 29, 2016Date of Patent: March 26, 2019Assignee: LIVE FRESH INC.Inventors: Ching-Chih Lai, Hao Fang, Yan Xiong

Patent number: 6911190Abstract: The present invention provides a process and apparatus for treating contaminated gas. A contaminated gas containing volatile organic compounds is continuously introduced into a reactor to allow the gas to contact a metal oxide catalyst and an oxidant for a period of time. The concentration of the volatile organic compounds can be thus reduced. The treated gas is then continuously emitted from the reactor. The concentration of the organic compounds of the emitted gas and/or the concentration of the oxidant are continuously monitored, and the oxidant feeding amount is controlled according to the monitored concentration. By means of the process of the present invention, volatile organic compound-containing waste gas with high humidity can be effectively treated, and the utility rate of the oxidant can be increased.Type: GrantFiled: December 24, 2003Date of Patent: June 28, 2005Assignee: Industrial Technology Research InstituteInventors: Shu-Sung Lin, Ching-Chih Lai

Publication number: 20030027325Abstract: The invention discloses a method for processing alkene-containing exhaust gas. It is a combination of ozonic and biological processes which mainly deal with exhaust gas mixtures having alkene-containing (C—C double bond) organic exhaust gas (such as alkene, acrylic acid) and other volatile organic compounds (such as ketone, alcohol, BTEX, and others). Since exhaust gas containing C—C double bond is difficult to dispose of, the method for processing exhaust gas presented in the invention utilizes ozone to completely decompose or transform the organic contaminants with C—C double bonds into intermediate products. The organic contaminant can then be treated in the biological process and converted into non-toxic substances. This method does not require large-sized biological process equipment, and the residual ozone is oxidized and degraded in the bio-filter.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 27, 2002Publication date: February 6, 2003Applicant: Industrial Technology Research InstituteInventors: Keh-Perng Shen, Shu-Kang Hsu, Ching-Chih Lai

Patent number: 6000274Abstract: A method for automatically detecting waste gas. The waste gas is led into a multiple switching valve through which the waste gas is sampled. Then, the waste gas sample is conveyed to an empty column and/or a chromatographic column, via the multiple switching valve. Then, the total hydrocarbon content of the waste gas sample is measured when the waste gas sample is conveyed to the empty column, and the waste gas sample is separated for measuring individual volatile organic compound concentrations of the waste gas sample when the waste as sample is conveyed to the chromatographic column.Type: GrantFiled: January 23, 1998Date of Patent: December 14, 1999Assignee: Industrial Technology Research InstituteInventors: Ching-Chih Lai, Hung-Chiao Cheng, Han-Wen Chu, Hsiang-Hsien Hsiao
