    Abstract: The invention relates to a composition comprising deer velvet antler blood (DVAB) in combination with velvet antler for use in the treatment and/or prevention of osteoporosis and a method for treating and/or preventing osteoporosis, comprising administering a therapeutically effective amount of a composition comprising DVAB and velvet antler to a subject at risk of developing or afflicted with osteoporosis. The composition of the invention, when administered to a subject with osteoporosis, increases anti-osteoporotic activity, decreases the biomarker of osteoporosis and recovers the biomechanical strength and structure of bone, suggesting that the said composition could significantly prevent and even treat osteoporosis.
