  • Publication number: 20120293473
Abstract: A display apparatus is disclosed. The display apparatus includes an environment luminance detector, a display image data analyser, and an image compensation processor. The environment luminance detector detects an environment luminance and generates an environment luminance grade according to the environment luminance. The display image data analyser receives display image data and analyses a luminance of the display image data to generate a display image data luminance grade. The image compensation processor generates an image luminance enhancement value, an image color compensating value and an image edge enhancement value. The image compensation processor compensates the display image data to generate compensated image data according to the image luminance enhancement value, the image color compensating value and the image edge enhancement value.

  • Patent number: 7457332
Abstract: A laser power control unit used for controlling the laser power of an optical pick-up unit (OPU) is provided. The laser power control unit includes: at least one analog-to-digital converter (ADC) electrically coupled to the OPU for transferring a front photodiode output signal into a digital feedback signal; and at least one digital control circuit electrically coupled to the ADC for generating a power control signal and outputting the power control signal to the OPU in order to control the laser power of the OPU. The digital control circuit has a compensation circuit used for generating a compensation value according to a difference between the digital feedback signal and a digital target feedback signal so as to adjust the power control signal. The front photodiode output signal corresponds to the laser power of the OPU.

  • Publication number: 20060077801
Abstract: A method for tracking and focusing enhancement of disk drives and related devices. The method performs feedforward compensation for an output signal generated by a feedback compensator of a disk drive. The output signal is utilized for controlling a tracking position or a focusing position of a read/write module of the disk drive. The method includes obtaining the output signal, within which a dominant signal is a periodic wave corresponding to a tracking error or a focusing error of the disk drive, identifying a waveform of the dominant signal, generating a correction signal according to the waveform of the dominant signal, and superposing the correction signal on the output signal to correct the dominant signal.

  • Publication number: 20040017750
Abstract: In method and apparatus for calibrating laser write power for writing data onto an optical storage medium, test data is written onto a test area of the optical storage medium at a number (N) of laser power levels. The test data written onto the test area is read and processed so as to generate a number (N) of processed signals corresponding to the number (N) of laser power levels, respectively. A jitter value associated with each of the processed signals is determined. Finally, one of the laser power levels that corresponds to one of the processed signals having the jitter value that is at a relative minimum is selected. The laser write power is set to the selected one of the laser power levels.
