Abstract: The present invention provides a video detecting device including a first pixel detector, a second pixel detector, and a determining unit. The first pixel detector compares the intensity of a target pixel of a target scan line in a first field with the intensity of first comparing pixels of scan lines corresponding to the target scan line in a second field to generate a first detection value corresponding to the target pixel. The second pixel detector compares the intensity of a reference pixel of a nearby scan line in the second field with the intensity of second comparing pixels of scan lines corresponding to the nearby scan line in the first field to generate a second detection value corresponding to the reference pixel. According to the first and second detection values, the determining unit generates a diagnostic value which helps determine sawtooth occurrences in video frames.

Abstract: A motion detection apparatus and related method for detecting motions between a first image and a second image are disclosed. The motion detection apparatus includes an edge detection module and a motion detection unit. The edge detection module performs an edge detecting operation on the first and second images so as to categorize a plurality of pixels in the first and second images. The motion detection unit is coupled to the edge detection module. According to the categorizing results of the pixels in the first and second images, the motion detection unit detects motion between the first and second images.

Abstract: An image processing circuit includes: a motion detector for detecting motion of an image carried by a first video signal to generate a selection signal, where regarding a pixel of the image, the motion detector generates a selection value in the selection signal, the selection value corresponding to the pixel; a field up-sampling filter for performing chroma up-sampling of the pixel on a field in a second video signal corresponding to the first video signal; a frame up-sampling filter for performing chroma up-sampling of the pixel on a frame in the second video signal; and a switching unit utilized for inputting the second video signal into one of the field up-sampling filter and the frame up-sampling filter according to the selection value to perform chroma up-sampling of the pixel.

Abstract: The present invention provides an apparatus and a method for de-interlacing. The apparatus includes an edge detection module, a statistics module, and an interpolation circuit. The edge detection module performs an edge detection operation on a plurality of pixels of an image so as to generate edge information corresponding to the image. The statistics module performs a detection window based statistics operation on the edge information so as to generate statistics information corresponding to the image. The interpolation circuit interpolates the image according to the statistics information so as to generate an intra-field interpolation signal corresponding to the image.
