Abstract: A threat warning system adapted to a virtual reality display device is provided, which includes a detecting module which has a LIDAR, for sensing distance and direction of at least one external object; a tri-axils stabilizer for stabilizing the light scanning device; a warning module for producing a warning signal to alert the user of a direction of an external object; a control module electrically connected to the detecting module and the warning module; and the control module determining a distance of the external object based on the distance information. When a distance between the external object and the user has been determined smaller than the warning distance, the warning module sends a threat warning signal to the user. A threat warning method adapted to a virtual reality display device is also provided.
