Abstract: A directional dynamic microphone includes a protective cover, a diaphragm in air-tight engagement with the cover, a voice coil, and a magnet with a core pole member and a tubular pole member and disposed rearwardly of the diaphragm. The magnet has an outer front circumferential portion which is spaced apart from an annular wall of the cover to confine a sound passage therebetween, an outer intermediate circumferential portion which engages the annular wall and which defines a sound port opening outwardly and radially for air communication with the sound passage, and an outer rear circumferential portion with sound holes angularly displaced therein and smaller than the sound port. Each sound hole extends inwardly and radially for air communication with a rear major side of the diaphragm. A phase shift effecting sheet veils the sound port so as to impart the microphone with a unidirectional characteristic.

Abstract: A microphone transducer includes a magnet, a yoke disposed around the magnet, an inner insulator provided between the magnet and the yoke, an outer insulator provided around the yoke, a voice coil provided around an upper portion of the magnet, and a diaphragm having a central convex portion and an annular convex portion which encircles the central convex portion. The central convex portion has a periphery which is attached to the voice coil. The annular convex portion has a periphery which is attached to the outer insulator. A noise reducing member includes a rigid annular mounting plate which is attached to the periphery of the annular convex portion of the diaphragm, and a flexible cushioning ring having a top side attached to the mounting plate and a bottom side attached to the outer insulator.

Abstract: A microphone includes a voice coil, a membrane and a diaphragm that has an annular convex portion encircling a central convex portion and a concentric cutout portion on the central convex portion. The membrane covers the cutout portion and extends to the periphery of the central convex portion. The combination of a properly designed cutout portion, the thickness of the membrane, the materials used for the membrane and the diaphragm, and the adhesive method employed to connect the membrane and the diaphragm shall result in a microphone that is capable of delivering high quality sound.
