  • Patent number: 9844583
Abstract: Nucleic acids encoding modified myosin heavy-chain-associated RNA transcripts are provided. The modified myosin heavy-chain-associated RNA transcripts belongs to a cluster of long noncoding RNAs (lncRNA) and bind to chromatin remodeler Brg1 to inhibit Brg1's genomic targeting and gene regulation function. The modified myosin heavy-chain-associated RNA transcripts expressed in an individual inhibit Brg1's gene regulation function and protect the heart of the individual from myopathy and failure. One of the modified heavy-chain-associated RNAs is a 400 base pair fragment segmented from a natural 779 base pair sequence of Mhrt (Mhrt779) and has the same cardioprotective effects as the Mhrt779.

  • Patent number: 8840288
Abstract: A vehicle window assembly includes a vehicle structure, a window panel and a light source. The vehicle structure defines a viewing aperture. The window panel is mounted to the vehicle structure and covers the viewing aperture. The window panel has a peripheral edge surrounding a first window surface and a second window surface opposite the first window surface. The first window surface includes an etched section. The light source is mounted to the vehicle structure adjacent to a portion of the peripheral edge of the window panel such that light from the light source is directed to the portion of the peripheral edge of the window panel. The light travels in a lateral direction through the window panel selectively illuminating the etched section.

  • Publication number: 20130109738
Abstract: Methods and compositions are provided for the diagnosis and treatment of heart diseases relating to cardiac hypertrophy, and for the regulation of proliferation and differentiation of cardiomyocyte progenitors in vitro. The detection of expression of components of the BAF complex, including, without limitation, detection of expression of Brg1, provides useful methods for early detection, diagnosis, staging, and monitoring of conditions leading to hypertrophy and enlargement of the heart. Manipulation of Brg1 activity provides for therapeutic intervention in the development of cardiac hypertrophy, where methods of decreasing Brg1 activity, e.g. through inhibition of binding, decreasing expression, and the like, reduces cardiac hypertrophy.
