  • Publication number: 20240134645
Abstract: In various examples, a VPU and associated components may be optimized to improve VPU performance and throughput. For example, the VPU may include a min/max collector, automatic store predication functionality, a SIMD data path organization that allows for inter-lane sharing, a transposed load/store with stride parameter functionality, a load with permute and zero insertion functionality, hardware, logic, and memory layout functionality to allow for two point and two by two point lookups, and per memory bank load caching capabilities. In addition, decoupled accelerators may be used to offload VPU processing tasks to increase throughput and performance, and a hardware sequencer may be included in a DMA system to reduce programming complexity of the VPU and the DMA system. The DMA and VPU may execute a VPU configuration mode that allows the VPU and DMA to operate without a processing controller for performing dynamic region based data movement operations.

  • Patent number: 11954496
Abstract: In various examples, systems and methods for reducing written requirements in a system on chip (SoC) are described herein. For instance, a total number of iterations may be determined for processing data, such as data representing an array. In some circumstances, a set of iterations may include a first number of iterations that is less than a second number of iterations. As such, and during execution of the set of iterations, a predicate flag corresponding to an excess iteration of the set of iterations may be generated, where the excess iteration corresponds to an iteration that is part of a number of excess iterations that is associated with a difference between the first number of iterations and the second number of iterations. Based on the predicate flag, one or more first values corresponding to the iteration may be prevented from being written to memory.

  • Patent number: 9215451
Abstract: A liquid crystal display for generating 3D images by matching a software optical grating includes a backlight module and a LCD panel having a color filter. The LCD panel has a plurality of first subpixels for generating a first image, a plurality of second subpixels for generating a second image, and a plurality of third subpixels for generating a black barrier image as the software optical grating. When the black barrier image is slightly spread to cover one part of the first image and one part of the second image, the first image is covered partially by the black barrier image to form a right-eye image, and the second image is covered partially by the black barrier image to form a left-eye image. Whereby, the right-eye and the left-eye images concurrently generated by the LCD are respectively projected onto the right and the left eyes of the viewer.

  • Publication number: 20140354785
Abstract: A method of providing a correct 3D image for a viewer at different watching angles includes: providing an autostereoscopic 3D display for concurrently generating a left-eye image and a right-eye image; capturing the position of a left eye and a right eye of the viewer by a built-in image capturing module to obtain a real-time watching angle of the viewer with respect to the autostereoscopic 3D display; and determining whether the real-time watching angle is in a first or a second predetermined range. When the real-time watching angle is in the first predetermined range, the left-eye image and the right-eye image are respectively received by the left eye and the right eye of the viewer. When the real-time watching angle is in the second predetermined range, the right-eye image and the left-eye image are respectively received by the left eye and the right eye of the viewer.

  • Patent number: 6084691
Abstract: A multi-purpose scanner that can be integrated into a computer. In one embodiment, the multi-purpose scanner functions as a desktop scanner. It includes a scanning engine and an external housing. The external housing substantially encapsulates the scanning engine to reduce electromagnetic interference to the scanning engine. In another embodiment, the multi-purpose scanner scans with scanning engine mechanically attached to the computer. The scanning engine includes an internal body, a chassis and a positioning assembly. The chassis holds the internal body, and the assembly moves the internal body relative to the chassis. In this embodiment, the scanner extends a part of the internal body out of the chassis in order to scan a medium. In a third embodiment, the multi-purpose scanner functions as a handheld scanner. The scanning engine includes a front-panel unit that is releasably attached to an engine unit.
