Since no two horizontally adjacent first connection terminals are passed through the same terminal space, it can effectively avoid the high-frequency signals transmitted by the first connection terminals from decaying or being interfered.

    Abstract: A double visual-interface socket compliant with socket design rules set forth in the Digital Visual Interface standard comprises: a lower socket unit including plural L-shaped terminal pins; an upper socket unit disposed above the lower socket unit and including plural terminal pins; an adapter module including plural L-shaped pins arranged in rows; and a circuit board having plural terminal guide holes and plural extension guide holes. The terminal guide holes are inserted by, soldered to, and therefore electrically connected with the terminal pins of the upper socket unit, respectively. The extension guide holes are electrically connected with the terminal guide holes, respectively, and are inserted by, soldered to, and therefore electrically connected with ends of the L-shaped pins of the adapter module, respectively. The opposite ends of the L-shaped pins of the adapter module are substantially aligned with bottom ends of the L-shaped terminal pins of the lower socket unit.

    Abstract: A diskless computer system has a network connecting device and a diskless computer connecting to the network connecting device. The diskless computer stores a disk driver and a network driver. The disk driver stores a device number corresponding to the network connecting device. The network driver is capable of obtaining the device number of the network connecting device. Therefore, the network connecting device either transfers disk packets or network packets to a network. Consequently, the network connecting device does not require complicated arbitration circuit in the conventional host bus adapter so the manufacture cost of the diskless computer system of the present invention is cheaper than the conventional diskless computer system.

    Abstract: A diskless computer-to-remote storage server operating system installation system and method, which uses a boot firmware and a network storage driver to establish disk connection with a logic unit space, enabling the operating system installation program to recognize a disk device for installation. The boot firmware is in charge of fetching network parameters. The storage driver is in charge of providing the installation program with network device operating function. The system and method of the invention eliminates the procedure of establishing a physical hard drive for making an operating system image for transmitting to the logic unit space, preventing an operation error due to being unfamiliar with the installation procedure. By means of eliminating image file making procedure, the invention greatly lowers the chance of human error during system establishment.

The remote boot apparatus has a bi-directional buffer, a central processor, a network interface, a boot ROM and ail interface core routine. The remote boot apparatus intercepts a normal disk read of an MBR issued by a system BIOS of a local computer, and then redirects the disk instruction in a form of TCP/IP packet to a remote boot server to read a corresponding file block from a location of the remote boot server. After the file block is received and confirmed by the computer, the received file block is unpacked and supplied to boot the computer.
