  • Patent number: 7518599
Abstract: A display control device and a display control method for use in a portable electronic apparatus are disclosed. The portable electronic apparatus includes a main controller and a display panel. The display control device includes a digital data register in communication with the main controller for storing a digital data display signal received from the main controller, and a digital-to-analog converter in communication with the digital data register, converting the digital data display signal stored in the digital data register into an analog data display signal and outputting the analog data display signal to the display panel to be revealed. The main controller keeps on outputting refreshed digital data display signals in a normal mode, and suspends the output of any further digital data display signal in an idle mode. In the idle mode, the digital data register reiteratively outputs a last stored digital data display signal to the digital-to-analog converter.

  • Patent number: 7474706
Abstract: A method of data transmission is provided. The method uses a differential data reverse signal to implement the differential data signal so that the number of the signal transitions can be effectively reduced in order to keep up with the data transmission rate. Further, because of using the differential data signals and the differential data reverse signal, the power consumption and the EMI can also be reduced.

  • Patent number: 7365704
Abstract: A driving circuit for a double display panel is disclosed. The driving circuit drives a first display panel and a second display panel, and includes an ASIC and two pairs of driving ports. The ASIC outputs a driving signal pair including two signals which are opposite in phase to each other. A first pair of driving ports electrically connected to the first display panel and the ASIC, receiving the driving signal pair to determine whether to activate the first display panel or not. A second pair of driving ports electrically connected to the second display panel and the ASIC, receiving the driving signal pair to determine whether to activate the second display panel or not. The driving signal pair determining the activation of the first and second display panel is the same for both panels, and only one of the display panels can be activated at a time.

  • Patent number: 7221346
Abstract: A driving circuit used in a liquid crystal display device is disclosed which includes a timing controller, a source driver and a low color scale driving circuit. The timing controller outputs a polarity inverting signal, a first digital signal, a second digital signal, a third digital signal and a fourth digital signal. The low color scale driving circuit generates a first analog signal, a second analog signal, a third analog signal and a fourth analog signal according to the digital signals outputted from the timing controller for driving a liquid crystal panel. Through the low color scale driving circuit, power consumption of the liquid crystal display device reduces when operating in the condition of low color scale.

  • Patent number: 7109960
Abstract: A driving circuit for display and the operating method thereof are provided. The driving circuit uses the data controller with multi-gray scale to make the color driving signal correspond to the related gray of the multi-gray scale, and uses the inverter to output the color output signal to a display to make the color output signal have more levels of color, such that it can achieve the aim of full color. As the invention does not require use of the memory and digital to analog converter, which consume large amounts of power, it can achieve the aim of saving power.

  • Publication number: 20050057464
Abstract: A method for driving a liquid crystal display device is disclosed. When data clock (DCLK) is not required, the method of driving a liquid crystal display device with low power consumption enables the close loop of the DCLK. That is, after a data transmission (LOAD) signal is triggered and before a data reception (DSTH) signal is triggered, the timing controller forces the DCLK signal to be at a low voltage level, which means the DCLK signal is not outputted, and therefore power saving is achieved.

  • Publication number: 20040239605
Abstract: A device for driving polarity inversion of electrodes of a liquid crystal display (LCD) panel includes a time sequence controller and a source driver. In order to drive polarity inversion of electrodes of the LCD panel, a polarity inverting signal is provided and a digital video data is outputted, wherein the polarity inverting signal has a frequency higher than a scan frequency of scan lines but lower than a display frequency of sub-pixels. Then, the digital video data is converted into an analog video data. The analog video data has a polarity inverting frequency substantially equal to the frequency of the polarity inverting signal.

  • Publication number: 20040233152
Abstract: An method for the partial display mode monitor, which is suitable for the monitor operation in the partial mode. In this method, the memory is first planned so that each pixel has one corresponding memory address in a plurality of memory addresses within the planned memory. A serial controller is used to detect and determine whether the original pattern in the display screen has been updated or not, wherein the original pattern is stored in the memory and also comprises some pixels which have corresponding memory addresses. Then, when the serial controller detects that the original pattern has updated to a new pattern, the new pattern is compared with the original pattern, so as to replace the original pattern, which is stored in the memory and its corresponding memory addresses, with the new pattern. Finally, the new pattern is output to the monitor.
