  • Patent number: 9137661
Abstract: An authentication method for user equipment (UE) and LIPA network entities is applicable to a cross-LIPA communication environment having an UE end, a visiting LIPA network entity end (LIPAV), and a home LIPA network entity end (LIPAH). The UE end successfully registers to a core network (CN) via the LIPAV, thereby attaining mutual trust relationship between the UE end and the LIPAV. The UE end successfully registers to the CN via the LIPAH, thereby attaining mutual trust relationship between the UE end and the LIPAH. The LIPAH requests the UE end via the LIPAV for successfully re-authenticating the CN, thereby attaining mutual trust relationship between the LIPAV and the LIPAH.

  • Publication number: 20140050084
Abstract: A method of group based machine type communications (MTC) and apparatuses using the same are proposed to minimize unexpected network response by the way of group based MTC function translations and adjustments. According to the method and the apparatus performing the method, grouping and re-grouping in both in the network level and the application server level could be performed to minimize functional discrepancies among required functions for a MTC service, functions supported by a network, and functions available for MTC UEs. Functional discrepancies after the initial grouping may be solved by performing functional adjustment and translation. By using this group based method and apparatuses, not only control signal overheads are saved but the likelihood of network congestion or overload due to error signals could be lowered.

  • Publication number: 20130149987
Abstract: A determining and routing apparatus uses an emergency event pre-processor (EEPP) to decide a machine-based emergency event request and route a corresponding emergency message to at least one proper emergency reaction center (emRC). For each emergency event request from one or more signal sending devices, the EEPP decides the emergency event request, analyzes at least one machine-based emergency event service type set in a parameter in accordance with the request, selects at least one emRC to process the machine-based emergency event service type from one or more emRCs, and decides at least one routing path for transmitting the corresponding emergency message. At least one mapping lists maintain the mapping information between the machine-based emergency event service types and the emRCs.

  • Patent number: 8200194
Abstract: The disclosure provides a Femtocell network system coexistent with a universal mobile telecommunication system (UMTS) network and the deadzone effect alleviating method thereof. For each femto access point (FAP) in the Femtocell network system, a minimum transmission power is pre-configured. When an inadmissible user equipment (UE) performs a location update or a handoff process to obtain the access right to a closed FAP, at least a FAP gateway may estimate the probable existence of deadzone via the UE location update or handoff procedure. Before the inadmissible UE reaches the deadzone of the closed FAP, the transmission power of the closed FAP is decreased repeatedly to allow the inadmissible UE to receive the signals and messages from the UMTS network, until the closed FAP reaches a threshold of its minimum transmission power.
