Abstract: An apparatus including a capture device and a processor. The capture device may be configured to generate a plurality of video frames corresponding to an interior view of a vehicle. The processor may be configured to perform operations on the video frames to detect objects in the video frames, detect an occupant of the vehicle and a seat of the vehicle based on the objects detected in the video frames, determine a status of the occupant based on characteristics of the occupant detected in the video frames and generate a signal in response to a comparison of the status of the occupant to a threshold. The characteristics may be determined by performing the operations on the occupant in the video frames. The signal may be configured to control a door lock. The door lock controlled by the signal may correspond to the seat used by the occupant.

Abstract: An apparatus includes an interface and a processor. The interface may be configured to communicate video data to a display. The processor may be configured to receive video frames from a capture device, generate video data for the display in response to the video frames, determine eye position information of a driver and adjust video parameters of the video data in response to the eye position information. The eye position information may be used to determine a central field a view of the driver and a peripheral field of view of the driver. The video parameters for the video data presented by the display are adjusted based on whether the display is located in the peripheral field of view or the central field of view.

Abstract: An apparatus includes a plurality of optical filters, a stereo camera and a circuit. The optical filters may be configured to (i) generate polarized light by polarizing light received from a reflective surface and (ii) rotate in synchronization to each other. The stereo camera may be disposed adjacent the optical filters and may be configured to generate two sequences of images in electrical form from the polarized light. The circuit may be configured to (i) generate a sequence of disparity images from the two sequences of images and (ii) adjust the rotation of the optical filters in response to the sequence of disparity images.

Abstract: An apparatus includes an interface and a processor. The interface may be configured to receive data readings generated by a plurality of sensors. The processor may be configured to perform a fusion operation on the data readings to detect an event, determine a location of the event with respect to a vehicle based on the data readings, convert the location to spatial audio data and generate an audio warning signal based on the spatial audio data. The sensors may generate video data as one of the data readings. The processor may perform video analysis on the video data to calculate measurements using a number of pixels to the event to calculate the location. The spatial audio data may be in a format compatible with a surround sound speaker system of the vehicle. The audio warning signal may indicate the location of the event using the surround sound speaker system.
