  • Patent number: 11588829
Abstract: Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture are disclosed to detect an attack in an input file. An example apparatus includes a detection controller to identify a section of a number of bytes of data in a buffer including a first or second byte of data indicative of a value within a preconfigured range, the preconfigured range corresponding to a range of values indicative of memory addresses, update a merged list with a chunk of data that includes the section having the first or second byte of data indicative of the value within the preconfigured range, and a reoccurrence detector to concatenate the chunk of data in the merged list into a string to identify a number of occurrences the string matches remaining data in the buffer, and in response to a detection of the number of occurrences exceeding an occurrence threshold, determine that the data includes a malicious data stream.

  • Patent number: 11128822
Abstract: An “Adaptive Exposure Corrector” performs automated real-time exposure correction of individual images or image sequences of arbitrary length. “Exposure correction” is defined herein as automated adjustments or corrections to any combination of shadows, highlights, high-frequency features, and color saturation of images. The Adaptive Exposure Corrector outputs perceptually improved images based on image ISO and camera ISO capabilities in combination with camera noise characteristics via exposure corrections by a variety of noise-aware image processing functions. An initial calibration process adapts these noise aware image processing functions to noise characteristics of particular camera models and types in combination with particular camera ISO settings. More specifically, this calibration process precomputes a Noise Aware Scaling Function (NASF) and a Color Scalar Function (CSF).

  • Publication number: 20210204106
Abstract: Systems and methods for event alerting using a communications system are disclosed. An example comprises receiving a first message over a communications network from a first communications device, the message relating to an emergency event, and determining the geographic location of the first communications device. Transmission of an alert message is caused to one or more second communications devices within a first area based on the determined location, the alert message providing an indication of the emergency event and prompting feedback by means of the second communications devices relating to the emergency event. One or more feedback messages may be received relating to the emergency event from one or more of the second communications devices.

  • Publication number: 20200004815
Abstract: Named entity recognition can be performed on an image to classify any text in an image. A boundary that encompasses the classified entity may be predicted. Subsequently, upon request, optical character recognition (OCR) can be performed on just the region inside the boundary. The disclosed implementations conserve computer resources such as processing power and battery compared to performing OCR on the entire image.
