  • Publication number: 20230323279
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to mutant algae resistant to salicylanilide based drug. The mutant algae has improved productivity and improved photosynthetic efficiency as compared to wild type of the algae in presence of the salicylanilide based drug. The present disclosure further relates to a method of preparing said mutant algae.

  • Patent number: 11649429
Abstract: A mutant algal strain showing upregulation of mRNA transcripts encoding urea carboxylase, ?-15-?3-desaturase and downregulation of mRNA transcripts of gene encoding triacylglycerol lipase is provided herein. The mutant algal strain of the present disclosure is tolerant to low temperature and thus can be grown over a wide temperature range. The strain shows enhanced biomass and fatty acid production and enhanced growth rate and nitrogen metabolism over a wide temperature range of about 10° C. to about 37° C., wherein the enhancement is in comparison to the wild type algal strain. A method of obtaining the mutant algal strain and a method of producing industrially relevant products such as fatty acids from the mutant algal strain also are provided herein.

  • Patent number: 10694752
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to propiconazole resistant mutants of Chlorella species having Accession No. CCAP 211/134. The propiconazole resistant mutants of Chlorella species has increased tolerance to propiconazole and has increased tolerance to abiotic stress. The present disclosure further provides a method for preparing the propiconazole resistant mutants of Chlorella species. The propiconazole resistant mutants of Chlorella species can selectively grow in the presence of propiconazole, has increased tolerance to temperature stress, and hence can be used for large scale production of algal biomass.
