Abstract: A method for express execution of multimedia playing with device group activation is provided. A device activation group table is provided to a multimedia computer system. The device activation group table defines, according to the functional features of each multimedia players connected to the computer, each hot key and its associated multimedia player, driver, and application program. To execute the express activation of the group function menu, the method includes the following steps: detecting the depression of a hot key; computer loading and executing the driver for the multimedia player associated with the depressed hot key in the computer by referring to the device activation group table; and loading and executing the application program for the multimedia player associated with the depressed hot key to activate the associated multimedia player. For those multimedia players associated with the hot keys that are not depressed, no action is taken.

Abstract: A method for fast activating a computer function options by loading program image files is provided, including a data storage pre-installed with at least a program image file. When the user operates an option button, the computer loads and executes the program image file associated with the option button after the basic booting process of the operating system. This activates the multimedia device corresponding to the pressed option button. In the preferred embodiment, the data storage also stores a program image file index in addition to the program image files. The program file index stores the starting addresses and file size of all the program image files.

Abstract: A boot method is implemented in a computer comprising a main memory and a storage device. A partition of the storage device comprises a first operating system and a second operating system. The partition is formatted with a first file system compatible with the first operating system. The second operating system comprises a kernel and is compatible with a second file system. When the computer boots up with the second operating system, the kernel is loaded from the partition to the main memory. A portion of the main memory is formatted with the second file system to serve as a ramdisk. The second operating system is loaded from the partition to the ramdisk.

Abstract: Disclosed are a method and a device for converting and displaying web image data of different formats on a display of an electronic device. An image format conversion module is linked to an internet and receives and converts web image data of different formats transmitted from a remote internet server at a predetermined web site on the internet into an image in a standard image output format. The image that is converted into the standard image output format is then transferred to an electronic device for displaying the image of the standard image output format.

Abstract: An activating method of a computer multimedia function is implemented to load in a multimedia operating system. The method includes when a multimedia on-switch mode signal is received, setting accordingly the host protection area to an access status; loading the on-switch loading program stored in the host protection area in the memory; and executing the on-switch loading program to load in the multimedia operating system and its corresponding application program to broadcast multimedia data.
