Abstract: An animal litter box includes: a tray housing including a urine passage portion and an insertion opening; and a tray including an absorbent-body placement surface. The urine passage portion has holes through which urine pass downward. The insertion opening is formed in a front surface of the tray housing. On the absorbent-body placement surface, an absorbent body for absorbing urine that has passed through the holes is placed. The tray is housed in the tray housing from the insertion opening in such a way that the tray is capable of being pulled out forward. The tray is capable of being housed in the tray housing with an orientation of the tray in the front-back direction reversed. The tray includes an identification portion in a part of the tray other than the absorbent-body placement surface, and the identification portion is for identifying one side and another side in the front-back direction.

Abstract: An animal toilet (1) has: a main body (10) provided with a urine passing section (12); and a tray (20) on which an absorbent body (200) for absorbing urine passing through the urine passing section (12) is disposed. In a lower end portion on one side in the front-rear direction of the main body (10), an opening (19) for accommodating the tray (10) is formed. In the left-right direction, the length of the opening (19) is longer than the length of the tray (20). In a state where the tray (20) is accommodated in the main body (10), both a bottom section (15d) of the main body and a bottom section (27) of the tray are grounded.

The absorbent-body arrangement portion is for arranging of an absorbent body that absorbs excrement, and is provided below the inner space in the height direction. The longitudinal central position of the inner space is located shifted from the longitudinal central position of the absorbent-body arrangement portion.

The animal litter box includes: a main body that receives excrement of an animal; and a cover that is removably mounted to an upper portion of the main body. The cover includes walls on front-back-direction sides and on left-right-direction sides. The cover includes an open top at a ceiling, the cover includes a cutout in at least one of the walls. The cutout serves as an entrance/exit when the animal enters or exits the animal litter. The cover includes an extending bottom that extends from a lower end portion of the cutout to an inner side of the at least one of walls.
