    Abstract: A power source check apparatus of a camera capable of using one of different type of batteries or battery packs detects the type of the power source used, and checks residual capacity of the power source by measuring the terminal voltage of the power source while applying suitable dummy load current in accordance with the detected type of the power source. The type of the power source is detected on the basis of any one of open circuit terminal voltage, appearance, or data code provided therein.
