  • Patent number: 12046553
Abstract: An Integrated Circuit (IC) includes electronic circuitry, an electronic fuse (eFuse) and a protection circuit. The eFuse is configured to be selectably programmed to a logical state. The electronic circuitry is configured to read the eFuse and to operate in accordance with the logical state read from the eFuse. The eFuse has a first range of operational voltages, and the electronic circuitry has a second range of operational voltages that is broader than the first range of operational voltages. The protection circuit is configured to prevent the electronic circuitry from misreading the logical state of the eFuse due to a voltage supply to the IC falling within the second operational voltage range but outside the first operational voltage range.

  • Patent number: 8045767
Abstract: A method for reconstructing a fingerprint image from a plurality of frames captured from swipe fingerprint sensor is disclosed. The method is based on a motion estimation between consecutive fingerprint frames. Only a portion of each frame is used to obtain the motion estimate to minimize system resources necessary for reconstructing the fingerprint image.

  • Patent number: 7212658
Abstract: In accordance with an embodiment of the present invention, an efficient and accurate system and method are described for detecting a fingerprint from swipe sensor system. A swipe sensor module is coupled to a microprocessor module. The swipe sensor module collects fingerprint image data as a plurality of frames and passes the frames of data to the microprocessor module. The microprocessor module assembles the frames of data into a complete image of the fingerprint that is cropped and processed to remove noise and artifacts. The cropped image is used to generate a template in a first instance and to compare an extracted portion of the cropped image to existing templates in a second instance.

  • Patent number: 6614437
Abstract: An apparatus and method for efficient memory utilization in an electronic system comprises a memory divided into memory units of equal size, a data source, and an interface between the memory and the data source, which manages storage and retrieval of data in the memory. The data source generates first data components and second data components, each of the first data components being larger than each of the second data components. Each memory unit is sized to contain one of the second data components. The memory units are configured as a continuous memory ring. The interface stores the data components sequentially in the memory ring as the data components are generated by the data source. The interface also retrieves the data components sequentially from the memory ring. A control module sends control signals to the interface to control read and write operations for the data components.
