  • Publication number: 20060166526
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a double printed circuit board with a solderless connecting structure, which electrically connects an upper board and a lower board of the double printed circuit board without soldering. The double printed circuit board comprises upper and lower boards, each having a hole with a conductive layer formed on an inner surface thereof. A pin is press-fitted through the holes of the upper and lower boards, and has upper and lower compliant portions formed at upper and lower portions of a pin body to electrically connect the upper board and the lower board, respectively. Since the pin comprises the upper and lower compliant portions, the pin can maintain stable connection between circuits of the upper and lower boards while being firmly coupled to the printed circuit boards, and minimize environmental contamination due to lead.

  • Publication number: 20060149381
Abstract: A prosthetic spinal disc uses a stiff spring or springs for resiliency between two plates that attach to adjacent vertebrae. When the disc has multiple springs, they may be adjacent, concentric or nested. Multiple springs may be spaced around the periphery of the plates. A foil metal bellows may surround the plates to prevent material from entering or exiting the space between the plates. Alternatively, the ends of the spring(s) may be machined with spikes to engage the vertebrae directly without plates.

  • Publication number: 20060121256
Abstract: Disclosed is a printed circuit board (PCB) having a thin core layer and a method of fabricating the same. In the method, a substrate, where a copper foil is formed on a release film and a prepreg, is employed as a base substrate and a core insulating layer is removed after the fabrication of the PCB, thereby reducing the thickness of the final product.

  • Publication number: 20060002150
Abstract: A backlight unit of an LCD device is disclosed in which a light-diffusion substance below a light-guiding plate is formed as one body with a reflecting sheet by using a photonic crystal reflecting sheet to improve color purity. The backlight unit includes a lamp; a photonic crystal reflecting sheet having a plurality of parts; and a plurality of sheets formed above the photonic crystal reflecting sheet. Each part of the photonic crystal reflecting sheet includes a photonic crystal for selectively reflecting the light of a predetermined wavelength in the light emitted from the lamp. The wavelengths are different, thereby permitting the photonic crystal to reflect different colors in different areas.

  • Publication number: 20050277453
Abstract: A mobile phone having a keypad arrangement and display formed on a housing unit. The housing unit having a battery compartment defined therein for housing a power supply and covered by a cover plate. A mirror being placed on a concealable portion of the housing unit. The concealable portion of the housing unit being the inner surface of the cover plate. The cover plate being mounted to slide interchangeably between an open position in which the battery compartment and mirror are revealed and a closed position in which the battery compartment and mirror are both concealed. In another embodiment, the concealable portion of the housing unit being the inner surface of a keypad cover unit formed and arranged on the housing unit to cover at least the keypad arrangement. The keypad cover unit being mounted to move interchangeably between an open position in which both the mirror and keypad arrangement are revealed and a closed position in which both the mirror and keypad arrangement are concealed.

  • Publication number: 20020169978
Abstract: A computer having a main board provided with a BIOS-ROM for booting the computer and a CPU. A removable storage unit having a casing, a readable and writable memory accommodated in the casing and having a data storing part and a code storing part, and a plug provided at the casing for transmitting data to/from the memory to the computer. The computer also having an interface part provided at the main board and to which the plug of the removable storage unit is removably connected; and a controller controlling the booting of the computer when a user code output from the code storing part and received through the interface part is equal to a unit code stored in the BIOS-ROM. With this configuration, the present invention provides both security and additional storage to the computer.

  • Patent number: 6110862
Abstract: A novel catalytic material is prepared by dispersing a catalytically active species, e.g., one or more platinum group metals, on a support phase that contains a high porosity, meso-pores high surface area (HPMPHSA) material. The HPMPHSA material has a porosity, measured in milliliters per gram of material, that is typically at least about 30 percent greater than that of a corresponding conventional material, preferably at least 50 percent greater. In a particular embodiment, the support phase of the catalytic material contains a HPMPHSA alumina having a porosity of about 0.9 ml/g, whereas a conventional alumina typically has a porosity of about 0.45 ml/g. The surface area is above 90, preferably above 100, more preferably equal or above 150 to 160 m.sup.2 /g. The support phase may be wholly composed of the HPMPHSA material or it may be composed of a mixture of the HPMPHSA material and a conventional material. Such a mixture preferably contains at least about 20 percent HPMPHSA material, by weight, e.g.

  • Patent number: 5700304
Abstract: A filter element is provided. The filter element generally includes a first liner, a region of filter media positioned downstream from the first liner and a screen arrangement positioned along a portion of the first liner downstream surface and oriented to block a portion of the first liner to flow directly therethrough and into a portion of the filter media directly associated therewith. Preferred elements are generally cylindrical, having expanded metal outer and inner liners with pleated paper media positioned therebetween. The preferred screen arrangement includes a polymeric sleeve, partially embedded in one of the end caps. Also according to the invention an overall filter arrangement or assembly is provided. Such an assembly includes the filter element as well as a housing and a precleaner arrangement.
