  • Publication number: 20230343443
Abstract: Systems described herein can use microphones and cameras to capture media data (e.g., audio data and video data) at the scene of an emergency, apply specific types of software to the media data to extract medical data for a patient and a digital biometric identifier of the patient, associate the medical data with the digital biometric identifier in a data structure, and transmit the medical data, the digital biometric identifier, and the data structure to a treatment facility. The systems described herein can accomplish these tasks without involving responders' hands, thereby allowing responders' hands to be used for treating patients, driving ambulances, and performing other lifesaving tasks without interruption. When a person arrives at the treatment facility, a second digital biometric identifier can be captured and compared to the digital biometric identifier to confirm that the person is the patient to whom the medical data applies.

  • Patent number: 11501731
Abstract: A process for operating an electronic computing device to assign video streams to watcher devices. The electronic computing device detects objects of interest within a field-of-view of a camera as a function of incident context information. The electronic computing device obtains video display characteristics associated with watcher devices and further determines, based on respective positions of the objects of interest within the field-of-view, a plurality of sub-regions each enclosing at least one of the detected objects of interest and having one or more video attributes. The electronic computing device then assigns, based on the video display characteristics associated with the watcher devices and the video attributes of the sub-regions, each of the sub-regions to a respectively selected one of the watcher devices. The video streams respectively captured corresponding to each of the assigned sub-regions of interest are then transmitted to the respectively selected one of the watcher devices.

  • Patent number: 11272328
Abstract: A method and apparatus for changing a talkgroup icon is provided herein. During operation a current public-safety incident is determined. Based on the current public safety incident, a talkgroup icon will be determined and pushed to the various radios that are members of the talkgroup. When a radio displays a list of talkgroups (or a single talkgroup), each talkgroup will be accompanied by the unique icon that identifies a public-safety incident related to the talkgroup. This allows a user of the radio to identify a current conversation on a particular talkgroup without having to monitor the particular talkgroup.

  • Patent number: 11259166
Abstract: A method and apparatus for recommending that a user dial an emergency number to report an incident is provided herein. During operation, a user submits anonymous information about an incident to a tipping server. The tipping server determines if the incident that the user is reporting is unreported to an emergency number. If the incident remains unreported to an emergency number, the user is provided a suggestion to call an emergency number to report the incident.

  • Publication number: 20210263889
Abstract: A method and apparatus for notifying authors of a statistical anomaly in paperwork is described herein. During operation information within fields of the paperwork will be identified that statistically differ from information contained in other paperwork from the same incident and/or other paperwork from similar incidents.

  • Patent number: 11095924
Abstract: A process for providing a time-compressed preview of a pre-buffered video during a push-to-video (PTV) communication session. A video communication device detects a PTV activation command and analyzes a pre-buffered video to detect objects of interest. The video communication device then establishes a PTV communication session with a second video communication device to transmit a time-compressed preview of the pre-buffered video in which some of the video segments in which the objects of interest appear are configured for accelerated playback at the second video communication device. The video communication device transmits a live PTV stream for synchronous playback at the second video communication device only after the transmission of the time-compressed preview of the pre-buffered video is completed.

  • Patent number: 10635173
Abstract: A smart ring (100) provides multi-mode control in a personal area network (PAN). The smart ring has a fingerprint sensor (106) for identifying upon which finger and which finger segment the smart ring is being worn. A controller (902) of the smart ring (100) enables a predetermined PAN device and PAN control function in response to identified finger and finger segment information (1, 2, 3) matching pre-stored fingerprint information. One of the PAN devices is thus selectively enabled and a predetermined function is controlled, based on identification of the finger and finger segment location of the smart ring (100). Several different PAN devices (narrowband radio, body-worn camera, sensors, gun holster, remote speaker microphone, broadband device, to name a few) can be selectively controlled and varied via rotation of the smart ring (100), making the smart ring well suited for public safety applications.
