In one embodiment, a medication delivery device utilizes a source of gas pressure to deploy a needle, deliver a desired amount of medication through the needle, and retract the needle for disposal. Fluid flow paths from the source of gas pressure communicate the gas pressure to the needle and to the medication in order to accomplish these steps. In one embodiment, a valve is positioned to open and close the flow of the pressurized gas to the needle and the flow of the medication to the needle, so that the valve can be operated to deploy the needle and deliver the medication through the needle when the user is ready for the injection.
