The insulating base has a front section formed with a connection board. The connection board has opposite top and bottom surfaces with larger plate surfaces. The two rows of first connection contacts are exposed from the top and bottom surfaces of the connection board, respectively. The socket shell is formed with a connection slot having a front end serving as an insert port. The connection board is disposed in the connection slot. The socket shell and the connection board can vertically float and move relative to each other, such that the connection board can vertically float and move relative to the socket shell or the socket shell can vertically float and move relative to the connection board.

Abstract: An electrical socket includes a plastic seat having a connection surface, a connection slot disposed in the plastic seat and rows of first and second terminals disposed on the plastic seat. A plug may be inserted into the connection slot, in which the connection surface facing an insert-connection surface of the plug is disposed. The plastic seat has rows of first and second terminal slots. A front section of the second terminal slot has an opening communicating with the connection slot. The first and second terminals are assembled into the first and second terminal slots, respectively. Fixing portions of the first and second terminals are fixed to the first and second terminal slots, respectively. A front section of an extension of the second terminal rests against a resting surface of the second terminal slot. The second contact is exposed to the connection slot through the opening.

A step is formed between X coordinates of the contact and extension of the second terminal in a sequentially arranging direction of the terminals such that the contact of the second terminal partially overlaps with the contact of the first terminal neighboring the second terminal on the X coordinates.
