Moving the adapter panel to the first position increases the effective width of the casing, and allows the battery to be inserted securely into a first receiving bay. Moving the adapter panel to the second position maintains the original width of the casing. This allows the battery casing to be inserted securely into a receiving bay, which has the same width as that of the original casing.
