    Abstract: Systems and methods for reducing the length of music data files having decaying sound patterns are provided. A system and method can include analyzing a music data file including an attack portion and a tail portion. A fadeout range can be associated with the music data file, and a cut threshold of the tail portion can be identified. A modified version of the music data file can be played back. The playback can include reducing sound levels of the music data file in accordance with the fadeout range and ending the playback when the cut threshold of the tail portion is reached.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of controlling movement of a cursor on a screen and a computer readable medium containing such a method as a program code. When using a graphic program which displays data in a graphical manner, it is often difficult to maintain control of the cursor. In particular, when a user attempts to draw a straight line using the cursor, it is difficult to control the cursor sufficiently accurately. The consequence is often not a straight line but one with steps of one or more pixels. Thus, the present invention is related to a method of controlling movement of a cursor on a screen, comprising: determining an initial position of said cursor; wherein the improvement lies indefining at least one corridor which includes said initial position; monitoring movement of said cursor to determine whether a final position of said cursor rests within the corridor, and displaying said movement as a line on said screen.

An aim of the present invention is to provide a music synthesizer whereby sounds are generated with a constant optimum beat across a large range of tones.

The licensing apparatus has a unique identification code and comprises a processor and an interface for the computer. The developer the generates an encrypted access code using the identification code and sends it to the end user. The user inputs the encrypted access code into the computer. The processor in the licensing apparatus is adapted to receive the encrypted access code via the interface; to decrypt the encrypted access code using the identification code; and to enable use by the computer of software associated with the encrypted access code.
