  • Patent number: 12286346
Abstract: The reaction of sodium hypochlorite with sodium bromide is slow, and commonly only part of the bromide is converted to hypobromite. Methods to accelerate the reaction by adding a regulated amount of acid to a solution comprising bleach and bromide are provided, whereby the yield of hypobromite can be increased. The amount of acid added can be predetermined based on the content of a base in the bleach, and acid can be added to neutralize the base. The amount of acid added can be based on a measured parameter of the reaction that is indicative of reaction kinetics. For example, the amount of acid can be actively controlled by measuring pH, absorbance of visible or near Ultraviolet light, or temperature of the reacting solution and adjusting acid.

Date of Patent: April 29, 2025

  • Publication number: 20140310960
Abstract: A skin engaging member of a razor cartridge is formed from a precursor of a matrix of a first water soluble polymer and a water insoluble polymer. The precursor includes an upper surface region. A powdered second water soluble polymer is applied to an outer surface of the upper surface region. The second water-soluble polymer is mechanically pressed (e.g. by a roller) to embed the second water soluble polymer in the upper surface region. The upper surface region of the skin engaging member has a locally increased combined first and second water soluble polymer content.

  • Publication number: 20060272155
Abstract: A razor cartridge includes a frame, one or more razor blades mounted within the frame, and a guard attached to the frame. The guard is disposed forward of the razor blades and consists essentially of a water-insoluble compliant material and a water-soluble lubricious material integrally formed therewith and substantially uniformly mixed therewith, thereby enabling the guard to be compliant and lubricious when exposed to water. The guard also includes a skin care ingredient selected from the group consisting of oils, vitamins, aloe, bisabalol, fruit extracts, green tea, antipruritic/counter irritant materials, antimicrobial/keratolytic materials, anti-fungal agents, anti-inflammatory agents, astringents, surfactants, rinsing aids, soaps, tackifiers, sunblocking agents, exfoliating agents, moisturizing agents, antiseptics, antioxidants, colorants, fragrances, and combinations of the foregoing.
