  • Patent number: 8639086
Abstract: According to example configurations as described herein, a media manager supports functions such as in-line display of video frame information for application of editing commands. Each of multiple frames in the in-line display can be derived from a respective bitmap. The bitmaps associated with the in-line display can be generated and cached during an editing session for easy access. After completion of the editing session and creation of a playback file specifying a media playback experience, a media manager deletes the cached bitmaps. Upon rendering of a video experience as specified by the playback file at a later time, a respective media player converts a format of video data as specified by the playback file into bitmap information again. Playback can include combining multiple frames of static images (as defined by the bitmaps) at different layers to produce a unique viewing experience.

  • Patent number: 5987391
Abstract: A method for predicting total bump height reduction from volume wear rate data for a laser textured magnetic disk. In this method, a bump topography function, r(h), is first established by which the bump half-width, r, is expressed as a function of bump depth, h. Then the bump height depth after first revolution, h.sub.1, is calculated according to the following equation: ##EQU1## Based on the observation of constant wear volume per cycle, the bump height depth after each subsequent revolution, h.sub.i, i=2 . . . N, is calculated according to the following equation: ##EQU2## The so-calculated h.sub.N is the total bump height reduction after the Nth revolution.

  • Patent number: 5748445
Abstract: This invention describes a triangular heat sink and circuit enclosure for high power dissipation electronic circuits. The heat sink uses a number of cooling fins to provide cooling of the circuitry and equipment contained in the circuit enclosure and can handle power dissipation levels of up to 15 kilowatts. The circuit enclosure uses air moving devices and triangular heat sinks to provide both conduction cooling and heat transfer to a stream of air. The cooling fins of the heat sink are sealed away from the electronic components when the circuit enclosure is assembled.
