  • Publication number: 20190077530
Abstract: In a method for manufacturing a seasoning bag, an edible adhesive is applied to a panel of a bag, and a granular seasoning is applied to the panel of the bag such that the granular seasoning adheres to the edible adhesive pattern to produce a seasoning layer. The granular seasoning forms air channels when the panel of the bag is vacuum sealed against a foodstuff inserted into the seasoning bag, to assist in egress of air from the bag during the vacuum sealing process.

  • Publication number: 20180103677
Abstract: A method of transferring an edible image to a substrate includes mounting a printing plate having an image to a roller; depositing an edible adhesive on the image; transferring the edible adhesive to a substrate; and depositing an edible coating on the adhesive coated substrate thereby transferring a mirror copy of the image onto the substrate. The method may further include placing the edible image in contact with foodstuff and applying pressure or a vacuum to transfer the edible image to the foodstuff. The edible image can be placed onto a foodstuff and light pressure or vacuum can be applied to transfer the image. The foodstuff can be held under pressure or vacuum until the image has transferred.

  • Patent number: 8661034
Abstract: A networked peer and item recommendation system makes recommendations to users such as documents of interest and peers with whom the users may want to connect. User profile information is maintained in a profiles database. A log enables the collection of user behavior information. A cluster filtering algorithm determines a cluster that a querying user belongs to. A collaborative filtering algorithm locates other users having implicit and explicit profiles in the database that are similar to the profile of the querying user. A dynamic expert verification algorithm is associated with the collaborative filtering algorithm to verify the qualifications of users and produce bias towards users with higher quality interactions. A search engine returns items based on a keyword provided by the querying user. A sorting algorithm sorts the items returned by the cluster filtering algorithm, collaborative filtering algorithm and search engine for presentation to the querying user.

  • Patent number: 6870976
Abstract: A multiplexer/demultiplexer optical system component that is passively aligned upon assembly is disclosed. The optical system includes a lens block and a mirror-filter block. In some embodiments, optical filters are positioned and epoxyed to the mirror-filter block using a positioning tool. In some embodiments, optical filters are positioned and epoxyed on a support structure which has been etched to receive the optical filters. The mirror-filter block is a block having flat surfaces, one of which is a flat reflecting surface. The lens block is formed by injection molding and includes a barrel for holding and positioning an optical fiber, placement for a collimating lens, and placements for focusing lenses such that, when assembled, light incident on each of the focusing lenses propagates along the optical axis of the focusing lens. In some embodiments, the collimating lens and the focusing lenses are integrally formed with the lens block.
