  • Publication number: 20250075800
Abstract: A reduced stroke gate valve is provided. The reduced stroke gate valve provides a predetermined or desired flow area for a given bore size through the gate valve while reducing a total length through which the gate valve strokes between an open position and a closed position. The reduced stroke gate valve includes one or more openings that span a non-circular or non-round area within the gate. The non-circular or non-round shape or distribution of opening(s) in the gate may provide a flow area equivalent to a predetermined flow area for a single circular hole that would otherwise be used for the gate valve application, but with a shape or distribution of opening(s) that provides a reduced stroke length to move the gate valve from the open position to the closed position.

  • Patent number: 12195416
Abstract: A process for converting C2-5 alkanes to higher value C5-24 hydrocarbon fuels and blendstocks. The C2-5 alkanes are converted to olefins by thermal olefination, without the use of a dehydrogenation catalyst and without the use of steam. The product olefins are fed to an oligomerization reactor containing a zeolite catalyst to crack, oligomerize and cyclize the olens to the fuel products which are then recovered. Optionally, hydrogen and methane are removed from the product olefin stream prior to oligomerization. Further optionally, C2-5 alkanes are removed from the product olefin stream prior to oligomerization.

  • Patent number: 12034827
Abstract: Various systems and methods for implementing a software defined industrial system are described herein. For example, an orchestrated system of distributed nodes may run an application, including modules implemented on the distributed nodes. In response to a node failing, a module may be redeployed to a replacement node. In an example, self-descriptive control applications and software modules are provided in the context of orchestratable distributed systems. The self-descriptive control applications may be executed by an orchestrator or like control device and use a module manifest to generate a control system application. For example, an edge control node of the industrial system may include a system on a chip including a microcontroller (MCU) to convert IO data. The system on a chip includes a central processing unit (CPU) in an initial inactive state, which may be changed to an activated state in response an activation signal.

  • Patent number: 12025568
Abstract: A power cable monitoring method which can be used to measure the mechanical state of health of subsea power cables. This method uses the magnetic properties of the load-bearing components of the power cable and the current carried by the power cable to apply an alternating force to itself. The only source of force from an alternating current in the cable which is at the fundamental frequency (F0) of the electrical power originates from magnetostriction of the steel armor. This force is predominantly axial. The strength of the F0 signal is used as an indicator of strain in the cable, where changes over time can be used to monitor the mechanical integrity of the cable structure. 2F0 signals are complex sums of axial, radial and tangential forces which are difficult to analyze. The 2F0 signal is therefore predominantly used to normalize the F0 signal.

  • Publication number: 20240151116
Abstract: A hanger assembly includes: a main body; a lock ring coupled to the main body and configured to expand radially outward into a profile on an inner diameter of the wellhead; and an actuator, wherein the actuator is capable of transferring an axial force from the actuator into outward radial expansion of the lock ring toward the profile on the inner diameter of the wellhead. An interface between the actuator and the lock ring is shaped such that: axially downward movement of the actuator from a starting position to an intermediate position actuates the lock ring into the profile; and axially downward movement of the actuator from the intermediate position to a pre-load position applies a pre-load to the hanger assembly.

  • Patent number: 11971353
Abstract: A hand-held or portable SPR device focuses light at two or more positions on a noble metal sensor surface, functionalized to enable detection of different SPR curves and their respective minima. The detection is accomplished substantially simultaneously by obtaining SPR signals contemporaneously from the different locations on the sensor surface, on the same sensor. The SPR device may incorporate multiple light sources or a single light source with a beam that is shifted by deflectors in seriatim to focus on different positions on along the functionalized sensor surface. To control wettability of the sensor surface (to augment multiplexing), the sensor surface may include i) the addition of surface assembled monolayers (SAMs) and ii) surface bombardment by gaseous plasmas, most notably O2.

  • Patent number: 11921113
Abstract: The present invention provides for excitable molecules positioned near metallic structures, wherein the metallic structures have a particles size from about 1 nm to 1000 nm and wherein the excitable molecules have fluorescence, phosphorescence or alpha-fluorescence emissions that are altered due to positioning near the metal structures. The emission spectra are distorted on either the blue or red edges in a range from 1 to 10 nm thereby changing the color of emissions. Further, the width of the emission spectrum is modified either by narrowing or broadening depending on the material of the metallic structures and type of excitable molecule.

  • Patent number: 11885682
Abstract: The disclosure provides improved processing of optical data by identifying anomalous signals in the electrical data representing the optical data. The improved processing can also include modifying the identified anomalous signal data to provide a truer representation of the optical data. The disclosed processing can be used by various systems and apparatuses for processing spectral data corresponding to the optical data. The improved processing can be used to improve the monitoring of semiconductor processes and, therefore, improve the overall semiconductor processes. In one example, a method of processing spectral data includes: (1) receiving temporally separated spectral data samples, and (2) identifying one or more anomalous signals in an intermediate one of the temporally separated spectral data samples based on at least one preceding and at least one subsequent ones of the spectral data samples.
