Publication number: 20140170306Abstract: A method for applying a fast curing epoxy traffic marking composition is provided in which curing agents are coated on a carrier such as glass beads or porous silica. These carriers are dropped onto the epoxy coating and promote rapid curing of the top layer of the epoxy coating while the bottom layer is given additional time to adhere to the roadway surface. This enables the application contractor to open a marked roadway in a quicker manner with less motorist disruption.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 18, 2013Publication date: June 19, 2014Applicant: POTTERS INDUSTRIES, LLC.Inventors: Suruliappa Jeganathan, Chris Davies, Kevin Goforth

Patent number: 8647013Abstract: The present invention provides a marking system adapted for coating a surface of a substrate in which a drying agent is used. According to a first aspect of the invention, a binder layer, such as paint, is applied to the surface. A drying agent is dispensed into the spray of a binder and becomes incorporated with the binder on the substrate surface. The incorporation of the drying agent into the binder prior to application on the surface provides improved mixing of the drying agent and binder and improved performance. According to a second aspect of the invention, a combination of optical elements and a drying agent are stored in a common hopper and are dispensed into the spray of the binder and become incorporated with the binder on the substrate surface. The mixture of optical elements and drying agent prevents coagulation of the drying agent and the resulting clogging of the dispenser.Type: GrantFiled: February 4, 2011Date of Patent: February 11, 2014Assignee: Potters Industries, LLCInventors: Chris Davies, Kevin Goforth

Patent number: 8279879Abstract: A chunk format for a large-scale, high data throughput router includes a preamble that allows each individual chunk to have clock and data recovery performed before the chunk data is retrieved. The format includes a chunk header that contains information specific to the entire chunk. A chunk according to the present format can contain multiple packet segments, with each segment having its own packet header for packet-specific information. The format provides for a scrambler seed which allows scrambling the data to achieve a favorable zero and one balance as well as minimal run lengths. There can be a random choice of available scrambler seeds for any particular chunk to avoid malicious forcing of zero and one patterns or run lengths of bit zeroes and ones. There are a chunk cyclical redundancy check (CRC) as well as forward error correction (FEC) bytes to detect and/or correct any errors and also to insure a high degree of data and control integrity.Type: GrantFiled: September 21, 2009Date of Patent: October 2, 2012Assignee: Foundry Networks, LLCInventors: Tony M. Brewer, Harry C. Blackmon, Chris Davies, Harold W. Dozier, Thomas C. McDermott, III, Steven J. Wallach, Dean E. Walker, Lou Yeh
