The system includes a cover assembly including a stationary section, and a movable cover section movable with respect to the stationary section between (i) a retracted, stowed position, out of the plane of the stationary section and in vertical registration with the stationary section, wherein the hot tub is uncovered, and (ii) an operative, extended position, in the plane of the stationary section and in end-to-end registration with the stationary section, wherein the hot tub is covered.
