Abstract: An apparatus and method to enable a business to evaluate technologies to determine whether it is worthwhile for that business to acquire it, and by which means. A universe of technologies is identified, and then reduced to a smaller number that have attracted a great deal of recent interest in trade journals and other pertinent media. A group of evaluators then scores each of these technologies using a selection tool to create a smaller still working pool of technologies for further study. The technologies in the working pool are then studied for their usability and appropriability to the business. These scores are plotted on a matrix, which provides a graphical summary of the best approach for that business to acquire the technology.
