Abstract: A method of operating a vehicle climate system when an ambient temperature is below a threshold temperature is provided. In response to an ambient temperature being less than a threshold temperature, a controller is adapted to operate a blower motor at a voltage that depends on whether the vehicle is in charge sustain mode or charge deplete mode. In response to an ambient temperature being greater than a threshold temperature, the controller is adapted to operate the blower motor at a voltage that does not depend on whether in the charge sustain or charge deplete modes.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for more accurately determining the room temperature of air in an automobile cabin by automatically determining the room temperature of air in an automobile based on one or more of a temperature value for solid mass surrounding a temperature sensor, an outlet temperature value for outlet air leaving a conditioned air outlet vent, an air temperature value for air measured by an air temperature sensor, and a blending factor value based on estimated percentages of room temperature air and outlet air present in the air measured by the air temperature sensor.

Abstract: A method and system for controlling a heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) system of a vehicle to prevent fogging of a windshield of the automotive vehicle is provided. The method and system include a determination of whether the vehicle has been recently turned "off", and upon determining the vehicle has been recently turned "off", commanding the HVAC system to a floor mode.
