  • Publication number: 20210353435
Abstract: A method for forming and abrading an implant void in a sacroiliac joint (“SI Joint”) without the use of a rotary cutting instrument. The method incorporates a multimodal abrading device having abrading surfaces on opposing sides and an open tip comprising a cutting edge. The method includes the step of using the abrading head to cut bone tissue from the SI Joint at an insertion point while simultaneously using the abrading surfaces to decorticate the cortical bone at the insertion point.

  • Publication number: 20210353429
Abstract: An allograft implant for fusing a sacroiliac joint (“SI Joint”), the allograft implant having a body consisting of allograft bone, the body comprising two opposing faces. A graft window is disposed between the two opposing faces, the graft window providing passage through the body between the two opposing faces. The graft window has a cross-sectional area that is about 35% to about 40% of a first cross-sectional area of the body, and about 60% of an area of each opposing face that makes contact with the sacrum or the ilium of the SI Joint.

  • Publication number: 20210353434
Abstract: A multimodal abrading device for preparing a sacroiliac joint (“SI Joint”) to receive a graft implant. The abrading device comprises an abrading head having abrading surfaces on a first pair of opposing sides, the abrading surfaces configured for decorticating the cortical bone of the SI Joint. The abrading head further comprises an open tip having a cutting edge configured to cut bone tissue in the SI Joint.

  • Publication number: 20210330464
Abstract: An apparatus for installing a fusion implant into the sacroiliac joint (“SI Joint”). The apparatus comprises a working channel, a joint locator, an abrading device, and an insertion device. The joint locator is inserted into the working channel, and this combination, guided by a K-wire, is advanced into the SI Joint. The joint locator is removed, and the abrading device is used to abrade the sacrum and ilium inside the SI Joint. The insertion device then advances the implant into the abraded area of the SI Joint. The abraded area heals across the implant, thereby fusing the sacrum to the ilium and fusing the SI Joint.

  • Patent number: 11058550
Abstract: An allograft implant for fusing a sacroiliac joint (“SI Joint”), the allograft implant comprising a body having two opposing faces. Each face has one or more anti-migration features, and each face is configured for abutting contact with a sacrum or an ilium of the SI Joint.
