  • Patent number: 10601495
Abstract: Drone-based wireless communications systems are provided, as are methods carried-out by such wireless communications systems. In one embodiment, the wireless communications system includes a Satellite Signal Transformation (SST) unit and a plurality of aerial network drones, which can be deployed over a designated geographical area to form a multi-drone network thereover. During operation, the SST unit transmits a network source signal, which contains content extracted from a satellite signal. The multi-drone network receives the network source signal, disseminates drone relay signals containing the content through the multi-drone network, and broadcastings user device signals containing the content over the designated geographical area.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: March 24, 2020
    Assignee: DISH Technologies L.L.C.

  • Patent number: 9713238
Abstract: Among other things, one or more rotating members of a radiation imaging modality, such as a CT system, are described herein. The rotating member may be configured to support at least one of a radiation source or a detector array and comprises at least one element configured to facilitate the transfer of power to the rotating member and at least one element configured to facilitate the transfer of information between the rotating member and a stator. The rotating member may also comprise one or more positioning elements that are formed within the rotating member and are configured to facilitate determining a rotation angle of the rotating member. The rotating member may further comprise, among other things, a bearing structure, antenna assembly for transferring image data, and/or a drive mechanism for facilitating rotation of the rotating member, for example.

  • Patent number: 9621960
Abstract: A mobile device may be registered to participate in selection of television programming for presentation by a display device external the mobile device. An indication of selection of particular television programming for presentation by a display device may be received from the mobile device. A determination may be made, based on the indication of selection, whether a collective indication of selection tally of the particular television programming is greater than a collective indication of selection tally of other television programming. The particular television programming may be output for presentation by the display device when the particular television programming has a collective indication of selection tally greater than a collective indication of selection tally of other television programming.

  • Publication number: 20050071891
Abstract: A construct which allows animals to be bred in captivity but renders them infertile in the wild by allowing reversible control over fertility and reproduction. The construct comprises: a first promoter that is activated in a defined spatial (tissue specific) or temporal manner linked to DNA encoding a transactivating protein; and a second promoter, which is activated by the transacting protein, linked to DNA encoding a blocker molecule which disrupts gametogenesis or embryogenesis. Feeding an animal a molecule that prevents the transactivating protein binding the second promoter controls fertility.

  • Patent number: 5638614
Abstract: The shoe protector and floor aid is a slip on device having a sole with a toe guard and a heel guard. The toe guard has a tongue attached by a flexible joint. The tongue is then attached by straps to a right side guard and a left side guard which guards are attached to wings on the sole. The shoe protector is slipped over the users regular shoe and attached by retainer straps and buckles. The shoe protector is made of non-marring material to prevent damage to surfaces when used in construction and installing flooring. The material protects the wearers normal shoes when working and when kicking carpeting to position it for installation.
