  • Patent number: 4618865
Abstract: A dielectric trough waveguide antenna composed of a metallic guide having a dielectric substrate covering the bottom of the guide and a plurality metal radiators placed periodically on the dielectric at the dielectric-air interface provides a low loss antenna suitable for millimeter wave applications.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 27, 1984
Date of Patent: October 21, 1986
    Assignee: Sperry Corporation
Inventors: David Lamensdorf, Chris J. Daigle
  • Patent number: 4575697
Abstract: A microwave phase shifter for use in waveguide transmission line employs a piezoelectric cantilevered bimorph member mounted on the waveguide and a thin wafer of dielectric material mounted on the free end of the cantilever above a slot in the waveguide. Voltages applied to the bimorph member cause this member to distort so as to insert the wafer into the waveguide slot and alter the phase of the microwave signal being transmitted.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 18, 1984
Date of Patent: March 11, 1986
    Assignee: Sperry Corporation
Inventors: Basrur R. Rao, Chris J. Daigle
