Abstract: A modular commemorative system is disclosed. The system may include a standardized backing plate comprising one or more first recesses and a second recess; one or more first elements each comprising a customized cameo; one or more second elements each comprising customized text; and a mounting mechanism for securing the standardized backing plate to a structure. Each of the one or more first elements may be affixable to the standardized backing plate in the one or more first recesses. Each of the one or more first elements may be flush with or below a surface of the standardized backing plate. Each of the one or more second elements may be at least one of affixable or integral to the standardized backing plate in the second recess.
