  • Patent number: 10871271
Abstract: An LED optic having a first lens positioned below an LED within a lower collecting lens at a top end of a TIR lens portion, the TIR lens portion having an array of flat diverging TIR facets, beneath which is located an array of parabolic beam reflecting TIR facets. A second lens is positioned beneath the first lens and the array of parabolic beam reflecting TIR facets and is surrounded by an angle-matched refracting lens formed at the lower end of the array of parabolic beam reflecting TIR facets.

  • Publication number: 20050148242
Abstract: A socket unit for fluorescent lamps and especially cold cathode fluorescent lamps has a movable top cover which includes an integral support limb. When in the open position, a lamp is supported by the limb. When in the closed position, the lamp is cammed into engagement with a conductive socket that supplies power to the lamp. As the cover is rotated toward the open configuration, the support limb engages the lamp and pushes it out of engagement with the socket and lifts the lamp to a location where it can easily be removed. In alternative embodiments, the socket can accept a cold cathode fluorescent lamp by engaging a conductive lamp end cap or the socket can accept a conventional, two-pin fluorescent lamp with a pair of conductive clips, one for each pin. Orienting means may be provided to position the lamp for insertion into the socket clips.

  • Patent number: 6357894
Abstract: A lighting fixture utilizing a housing surrounding a fluorescent light source. The housing has an aperture defining an edge portion for determining the cutoff angle of light emanating from the source. A first upper reflector is formed on the inner surface of the housing directing light from the source at angles ranging between the cutoff angle and angles less than the cutoff angle. The second reflector, located adjacent first reflector in the housing between the housing aperture and the first reflector, directs light from the source ranging between a selected angle, which is less than the cutoff angle, and at angles less than the selected angle. The result is a lighting fixture which possesses an optical delay in the activation in the second reflector as one approaches the optical axis from a peripheral position.

  • Patent number: 6033093
Abstract: A lighting device employing a source of light which emanates to a first reflector which is positioned outwardly from such source. A second reflector at least partially surrounds the light source and is formed in spaced relationship with the first reflector to create a first gap between the first and second reflectors. The second reflector includes an opening which permits light from the source to pass to the first reflector and outwardly from the lighting device through the first gap. A light interacting element is formed outwardly from the source and is spaced from the second reflector to form a second gap. The second reflector is, thus, positioned between the first reflector and the light interacting element. Light interacting element further receives light from the source and either reflects or diffuses light outwardly from the lighting device.
