Publication number: 20210131684Abstract: A system that provides effective and efficient introduction of water droplets into an air flow. The water droplets are sufficiently small so as to evaporate primarily before leaving the mixing enclosure where the droplets are injected by spray nozzles. Large droplets are kept to a minimum, thus reducing condensation and water accumulation to a very small amount. An amount of water usage is significantly less than that of a conventional evaporative humidifier of the same capacity. The present system may be placed in an enclosure that can readily replace other conventional evaporative humidifiers in enclosures. The present enclosure and system may be installed in lieu of a conventional enclosure and evaporative humidifier with minimal effort. The present enclosure has features that facilitate droplet to air mixing, viewing, humidification, and testing. In permissible situations, the present system may replace a conventional system but retain the conventional enclosure.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 12, 2021Publication date: May 6, 2021Inventors: Andrzej Peczalski, Grant Wood, Jason L. Ableitner, Lauren Seymour, Brad A. Terlson, Thomas M. Rezachek, Alex Gu, Charles N. Hoff, Andrew Smith, Chris Ohlsen, Adam D. McBrady

Patent number: 8265542Abstract: A low-cost training and synthetic visualization system and method directed to improving an individual's airborne performance in general aviation, skydiving, and other aerial applications. The system is comprised of a self-contained mobile sensor and data storage device for recording the travel path, orientation, and forces acting upon an object as it moves through space, a desktop graphics software program for creating a playback of the recorded data on a three-dimensional representation of the environment through which the object moved, a means of linking the sensor and data storage device to the software program for the purpose of exchanging information, and a centralized data storage and retrieval system designed to accept, assimilate and redistribute the recorded data.Type: GrantFiled: December 20, 2011Date of Patent: September 11, 2012Assignee: Appareo Systems, LLCInventors: Barry Douglas Batcheller, Tyler Chris Ohlsen

Patent number: 8116922Abstract: A method for reconciling ground-level discrepancies between the displayed path of a moving body and a terrain model in a graphical simulation, including the steps of (1) examining the individual data points describing a recorded trip by a vehicle, (2) determining which of the data points correspond to points when the vehicle was actually on the ground, (3) determining the altitude difference between the recorded altitude data and the terrain model at each of the determined “on-ground” points, and (4) using the altitude difference to create a correction signal which can be applied either to the recorded altitude data or the terrain model.Type: GrantFiled: September 21, 2007Date of Patent: February 14, 2012Assignee: Appareo Systems, LLCInventors: Robert Vincent Weinmann, Tyler Chris Ohlsen
