  • Publication number: 20050098144
Abstract: A fuel injector includes a homogenous charge nozzle outlet set and a conventional nozzle outlet set that are controlled respectively by first and second three way needle control valves. Each fuel injector includes first and second concentric needle valve members. One of the needle valve members moves to an open position for a homogenous charge injection event, while the other needle valve member moves to an open position for a conventional injection event. The fuel injector has the ability to operate in a homogenous charge mode with a homogenous charge spray pattern, a conventional mode with a conventional spray pattern or a mixed mode.

  • Patent number: 6769635
Abstract: A fuel injector includes a homogenous charge nozzle outlet set and a conventional nozzle outlet set controlled respectively, by first and second needle valve members. One of the needle valve members moves to an open position while the other needle valve member remains stationary for a homogeneous charge injection event. The former needle valve member stays stationary while the other needle valve member moves to an open position for a conventional injection event. One of the needle valve members is at least partially positioned in the other needle valve member. Thus, the injector can perform homogeneous charge injection events, conventional injection events, or even a mixed mode having both types of injection events in a single engine cycle.

  • Publication number: 20030041060
Abstract: A system and method for providing an Internet user that has no pre-conceived notion of the specific subject matter he or she wishes to initially view, with a graphical user interface which assists the user in locating a web site of interest by first displaying a variety of general categories, each corresponding to a plurality of content-related web sites, and gradually guiding the user to a web page of interest. The system allows an Internet user to review information that has been acquired solely to stimulate their imagination. The invention utilizes an “Imagination Guide”, which presents, on the use's computer screen, a plurality of subject category headings, each heading identifying a unique area of interest. The user can select a preferred language, and is then presented by the list of subject categories corresponding to the selected language.

  • Publication number: 20030030751
Abstract: A system and method for purchasing Pay Per View (“PPV”) television events by using a wireless communications device such as a cellular phone having Wireless Application Protocol Technology. The system and method of the present invention allows a subscriber, when away from home, to purchase PPV events for the subscriber's television system by using a WAP-enabled cellular phone or PDA and accessing a database on a server wherein the database is also WAP-enabled. The present invention uses a wireless Internet connection to facilitate a wireless purchase of a PPV event thus resulting in immediate processing, billing and accounting. The subscriber can view PPV event schedules and purchase PPV events by selecting the desired event directly from the display screen on the subscriber's cellular telephone. A reminder message can be sent to the subscriber's cellular telephone minutes before the start of the event.
