Abstract: A method of managing data in a data queue includes analyzing media currently being played, or to be played by a first computing device functioning as a leader, identifying an offset into the media and a timestamp corresponding to the offset, calculating a buffer duration corresponding to an amount of time that the data queue takes to output data currently in the data queue, and playing the media at the leader and a second computing device functioning as a follower, in a substantially synchronized manner, by inputting data to the data queue at a specified time based on the calculated buffer duration, the offset, and the timestamp.
