  • Publication number: 20240135798
Abstract: A system and method for evaluating safety risk of workers is presented. The system includes wearable devices configured to be attached to or carried by workers during a work shift and a monitoring system. The wearable device includes sensors configured to sample sensor data indicative of working conditions and work performed by workers. The wearable device is configured to record an audio recording and communicate a set of data including the audio recording and/or sensor data to the monitoring system in response to an event trigger being engaged. In one or more arrangements, the monitoring system is configured to facilitate creation of a workflow for performance of a task described in the audio recording in response to receiving the set of data.

  • Publication number: 20240125600
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to integration of integrated photonics-based optical gyroscopes and fiber-based optical gyroscopes into portable apparatuses that may include compass features. Novel small-footprint modularized fully integrated photonics optical gyroscopes are used for non-critical axes. However, for at least one critical axis, a fiber-optic gyroscope can be used to provide bias stability below 0.1°/Hr, which is directly correlated to predicting positional accuracy in the centimeter range. The positional accuracy results from the compassing ability of the gyroscope (referred to as gyrocompass) to calculate direction of heading using the earth's rotation.

  • Publication number: 20230134544
Abstract: A sensor assembly includes a carrier having a base wall and a pair of side walls extending from the base wall, and a sensor mounted on the base wall between the side walls. Each of the side walls has a side step between a first side section and a second side section extending from the first side section along a longitudinal direction of the carrier. A sensor die of the sensor is spaced in a width direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction by a first lateral gap distance from the first side section and by a second lateral gap distance from the second side section. The second lateral gap distance is greater than the first lateral gap distance.

  • Patent number: 11604110
Abstract: Pressure sensor systems that include a pressure sensor die and other components in a small, space-efficient package, where the package allow gas or liquid to reach either or both sides of a membranes of the pressure sensor die. A package can include a substrate and a cap, where either or both the substrate and the cap divide the package internally into two chambers. The substrate can have a solid bottom layer, a middle layer having a slot or path running a portion of the length of the layer, and a top layer having two through-holes that provide access to the slot or path. The cap can have two ports. A first port can lead to a first chamber where a top side of a pressure sensor is in the first chamber. A second port can lead to a second chamber and the slot or path, where the slot or path leads to a bottom side of the pressure sensor.

  • Patent number: 11467059
Abstract: A test instrument tests an optical component of a fiber optic network. The test instrument determines signal parameters describing pulses to be emitted by lasers of the test instrument to test the optical component, and directly modulates the lasers to repeatedly emit the pulses at different wavelengths on a single fiber optic cable in a time division multiplexing manner. The test instrument triggers powering measurements to coincide with the emitted pulses, and determines performance parameters of the optical component based on the triggered power measurements.

  • Patent number: 10934120
Abstract: A stacker component of an apparatus for automated manufacturing of three-dimensional composite-based objects for aligning registration of sheets. The stacker includes a sheet catcher; a frame having a base plate with the base plate having tapered registration pins to align a stack of substrate sheets. The registration pins are mounted in the base plate and project vertically to a location just below the sheet catcher. The stacker also has a presser with a press plate and a belt driver system that moves the press plate up and down allowing the press plate to exert downward pressure on the stack and a slide system with two guide rails that enable the base plate to be loaded and unloaded. A conveyor can be disposed so that after a substrate sheet exits a powder or printing system, the sheet is conveyed onto the sheet catcher.

  • Patent number: 10914413
Abstract: A quick connect fluid connector that is detachably connectable to a fluid system to process a gas into or from the fluid system through the quick connect fluid connector. The quick connect fluid connector includes one or more temperature sensors that can sense the temperature of the gas within the fluid connector during processing. Based on the sensed temperature(s), an alert can be generated to alert a human operator conducting the processing and/or automatically shut-off the processing if the sensed temperature becomes too high. The operator will therefore be alerted if the cylinders are being processed too quickly or if the processing duration could be shortened.

  • Patent number: 10598965
Abstract: According to an example, a polarization control system is to manipulate polarization manipulators to output light that achieves a trajectory on a Poincaré sphere that tracks a known trajectory of a polarizer on the Poincaré sphere, in which the trajectory of the output light enables definition of a reference polarization state of the output light. The polarization control system may also manipulate an output polarization manipulator to set the output light to a predefined polarization state based upon the reference polarization state.
