  • Patent number: 7604383
Abstract: A headlamp fixture and a control system for controlling a vehicular lighting system to produce particular lighting patterns required under different regulatory regimes is disclosed. The headlamps employ semiconductor light sources to create the desired patterns and can include at least two inclined light source elements which are alternately illuminated to produce required side illumination or can include single light source elements which can be rotated clockwise and counterclockwise to produce the required side illumination. The lighting system can employ an output from a GPS receiver to determine the country or region in which the vehicle is being driven to automatically configure the operation of lighting system components, such as the side illumination of the headlamps and/or the activation and deactivation of daytime running lights, to meet the regulatory requirements of the country or region.

  • Publication number: 20090237952
Abstract: A modular semiconductor light source assembly includes a semiconductor light source, such as a light emitting diode, which is mounted on a substrate which supplies electricity to the light source and which assists in removing waste heat therefrom. Substantially all of the light emitted by the LED is transferred to a lens by a light pipe, the cross section of the light pipe increasing from the light source to the lens and the lens having a general D-shape such that the light pattern formed by the lens is constrained in a first direction orthogonal to a second direction. The assembly can be combined with other similar assemblies or other light sources in a light fixture to produce a desired overall beam pattern such as a automobile headlamp low beam or high beam pattern.

  • Patent number: 7464329
Abstract: Described is a method and data structure that enables an object to be specified declaratively within a markup document. The markup document may be XML-based. In accordance with the invention, the object is written based on a mapping. The mapping includes a URL attribute for defining a location for a definition file having assemblies and namespaces where classes are specified. The class name is mapped to the markup document as a tag name. Properties and events of a class are mapped to attributes of the tag associated with the class. The method further includes a method to parse the markup language to create a hierarchy of objects. Attributes that do not map directly to a class are defined with a definition tag. The definition tag is also used to add programming code to a page.

Abstract: Aspects of the present invention allow the implementation of one or more data pools using portions or sectors of one or more hard disk drives. Aspects of the invention incorporate at least a method and system of implementing the one or more data pools. The method of implementing a data pool using one or more data storage drives may comprise first generating a first partition table and a second partition table, wherein the first partition table is a mirror image of said second partition table. The method further comprises second generating a first pool information block and a second pool information block, wherein the first pool information block is a mirror image of said second pool information block. The system of implementing a data pool using one or more data storage drives may comprise a memory, a software resident in the memory, and a processor capable of executing the software.

  • Patent number: 7021008
Abstract: An inflatable device with an outer inflatable structure, inflatable interior frame, an interior opening and an outer opening. The frame has a plurality of side rods, a center wall, a plurality of interconnected ribs and a plurality of air passages. The interior opening is on a rib and receives any common air pump. The interior frame becomes rigid upon inflation and, forces apart the walls of the outer inflatable structure. Once the interior frame is completely inflated, it provides support to the outer inflatable structure so that the main air chamber inside of the outer inflatable structure does not need to be fully inflated with air. A cap placed over the outer opening is fitted with an air pump valve in order that additional air may be pumped into the main air chamber to increase the firmness of the inflatable device.
