  • Publication number: 20200240948
Abstract: A lead-free galvanic oxygen sensor having an aqueous electrolyte and a bismuth anode is disclosed. The electrolyte contains a polyol in addition to water and a salt. Surprisingly, a sensor with such an electrolyte has an increased resistance to passivation. The suppressed passivation of the bismuth anode leads to a sensor lifespan, in some instances, of greater than 100 days. The polyol can be added in the amount of between 20% and 30%. The polyol can comprise D-sorbitol, meso-erythritol, or glycerol. In some instances, the polyol in the electrolyte can increase the time until a sudden rise in potential for the sensor, while maintaining a constant current on the bismuth anode, of greater than 14 minutes.

  • Patent number: 8110160
Abstract: Disclosed is a cuvette for taking a measurement on a liquid, comprising a monolithic cuvette body with a cavity (4) in the form of a narrow gap that is formed between two at least approximately parallel wall surfaces (15, 16) and is delimited by an inner wall (5, 6, 11) and a drawing edge (2) which is open towards the surroundings and from which the liquid is drawn into the cavity (4) forming a measurement zone (13) under the effect of a capillary force.

  • Patent number: 5837199
Abstract: The invention relates to a measurement apparatus (1) for analysing fluids, comprising a container (3) in the form of a syringe, into which a fluid may be taken in via an intake device (14) through at least one opening (5), and further comprising a sensor (7) which is either integrated in the container wall (9) or is attached to said container wall (9), the sensor(s) (7) being so disposed that it/they can come into contact with the fluid which may be taken up into the cavity (10).
