  • Patent number: 12386888
Abstract: A method includes receiving, by a computing system, an audio signal, where the audio signal defines a segment of media content over time. The method also includes establishing by the computing system, based on the received audio signal, a normalized query frequency-domain representation of the received audio signal. The method further includes matching, by the computing system, the normalized query frequency-domain representation of the received audio signal with a correspondingly normalized reference frequency-domain representation of a reference audio signal having an associated identity. The method additionally includes based on the matching, determining by the computing system that an identity of the received audio signal is the associated identity of the reference audio signal.

  • Publication number: 20250201017
Abstract: Methods and apparatus to capture images are disclosed. An example apparatus disclosed herein includes an image sensor to observe a first image of a face, and a logic circuit to determine whether the face in the first image is in a first orientation with respect to the image sensor, and when the face in the first image is in the first orientation: trigger the image sensor to capture a second image of the face, and perform a facial recognition process on the second image, but not on the first image.

  • Publication number: 20250159283
Abstract: Methods and apparatus to identify streaming sessions are disclosed. A disclosed apparatus for identifying streaming sessions includes an encoder to generate an identifier corresponding to a media file of an advertisement, a detector to determine a presence of the identifier in the advertisement presented at a media presentation device, a timing analyzer to determine a time at which the advertisement was presented, and an associator. The associator is to compare the identifier and the time to a streaming session log from a streaming service provider, identify a streaming session in which the advertisement associated with the identifier was presented at the time based on the comparison, and associate a panelist identifier corresponding to the media presentation device with a streaming session identifier corresponding to the streaming session.

  • Publication number: 20250016404
Abstract: A method includes receiving, into a microphone of a portable computing device, audio from a surrounding environment of the portable computing device. The method also includes classifying, by the portable computing device, the received audio as containing media content or as containing no media content. Classifying the received audio as containing media content or as containing no media content comprises determining whether the audio defines content emitted from a media player in the surrounding environment of the portable computing device. The method further includes, based on the classifying, controlling by the portable computing device whether to engage in an audio-identification process for determining an identity of the media content.
