Abstract: A gaming machine that provides a game in which a plurality of symbols are selected and presented and if a winning combination occurs in the selected symbols, the gaming machine awards an award, the gaming machine comprising a communication interface for receiving and sending data to a remote device and an alphanumeric keypad and in response to operation of the alphanumeric keypad the gaming machine causes a message to be generated using predictive text input technology, wherein the gaming machine is further arranged to send the generated message to the remote device over the communication interface, and wherein the gaming machine further includes a display that is controlled to display messages generated by and sent by the gaming machine and messages received by the gaming machine.

Abstract: A gaming system comprising a plurality of player terminals, each comprising a player display and a player instruction input mechanism, and a game controller coupled to the player terminals and arranged to cause each player display to display at least a starting portion of a task for completion by a player associated with the player terminal independently of a player or players associated with one or more other player terminals, whereby each player may seek to complete the task independently of each other player by operating their respective player instruction input mechanism, receive one or more player instructions related to completion of the task from at least one of the players, and process the player instructions to determine a winning player based on one or more criteria.

Abstract: A system for managing transfer of game related player rights from a first gaming system to a second gaming system, comprising: data storage means having a data structure adapted for storing a set of parameters representing game related player rights; an interface adapted for communicating said player rights parameters between a first and a second gaming system; and a mechanism adapted for synchronizing the storage of said player rights parameters in data storage means of said first and said second gaming systems.
