  • Publication number: 20060072977
Abstract: The present invention relates to a replaceable cutting tip and, more particularly, to such cutting tips attachable to the cutting tip holders by a threaded connection. The cutting tip for a cutting tool includes a working end portion disposed along an axis of the cutting tip and including one or more cutting edges for machining a workpiece, and a mounting portion disposed along the axis of the cutting tip. The mounting portion includes a frustoconical supporting surface tip portion and a frustoconical threaded portion. The present invention also relates to a cutting tool per se.

  • Publication number: 20060073744
Abstract: The present invention relates to a tool and a male part for chip removing machining. The tool includes a male part and a holder for the male part. The male part includes a radial and axial supporting and positioning portion and a threaded portion. A largest diameter of the externally threaded portion is smaller than a smallest diameter of the radially and axially supporting and positioning portion. A transition portion is disposed along the axis of the male part between a radially largest portion of the radially and axially supporting and positioning portion and the externally threaded portion.

  • Publication number: 20060062642
Abstract: The present invention relates to a tool head preferably for milling. The tool head is connectable to a toolholder. The tool head includes a cutting portion and a mounting portion. The mounting portion includes an axial stop surface and a radial stop surface. Dimensions and tolerances of the axial stop surface and the radial stop surface are selected such that the axial stop surface will abut an axial stop on the toolholder to prevent axial movement of the toolholder relative to the tool head beyond the axial stop surface and the radial stop surface will be disposed proximate a radial stop of the toolholder to limit radial movement of the tool head relative to the toolholder when an integral fastening portion of the tool head and an integral fastening portion of the toolholder are fastened directly to one another and the axial stop surface and the axial stop abut.

  • Publication number: 20060056926
Abstract: The present invention relates to an indexable cutting insert for an end mill for machining of contours in a workpiece and to a milling tool. The cutting insert is asymmetrical in respect of a line through a hole in the cutting insert. The cutting insert includes two cutting edge portions. Each cutting edge portion comprises of a substantially straight cutting edge and a curved cutting edge along respective intersecting lines between a clearance surface and a chip surface. The curved cutting edges have different lengths. The cutting insert includes recesses in a bottom side of the cutting insert. The recesses are arranged on both sides of and at different distances from the hole of the cutting insert.

The cutting insert is asymmetrical in respect of a line through a hole in the cutting insert. The cutting insert comprises two cutting edge portions. Each cutting edge portion comprises a substantially straight cutting edge and a curved cutting edge along respective intersecting lines between a clearance surface and a rake face. The curved cutting edges have different lengths. The cutting insert has a bottom side and a first and a second opposite corner. The second corner is defined in plane view by a radius that is greater than, preferably at least twice as great as a radius of the first corner.

  • Publication number: 20050220553
Abstract: The present invention relates to a thread milling cutter, which includes a cutting head, having a holder with a number of cutting insert pockets, a number of threading inserts, which are received in the cutting insert pockets and an attachment integrated with the cutting head, which attachment is intended to be received in a tool coupling. The invention also relates to the holder per se and to a method for milling an external thread on a spigot. The holder is provided with an internal cavity, which has an extension both radially and axially with regard to a rotational axis of the thread milling cutter, and the cutting insert pockets are provided in the internal cavity.

  • Patent number: 6371726
Abstract: A foldable propeller for a ship having a hub (2) for mounting on a drive shaft of the ship, and at least two skew-type blades (1), each of which is pivotably arranged in the hub (2) for configuration between a first, essentially folded together position and a second, essentially unfolded position, wherein each blade (1) presents a generator line (8). Each of the blades (1) has a skew distribution such that the leading edge of the inner and outer radii, respectively, are located substantially forward and aft of the generator line (8) of the blade (1). The mid-chord line (10) of the propeller extends substantially forward and aft of the generator line (8) of the blade (1). A foldable propeller with such blade geometry provides improved performance; in particular, ready unfolding, high reverse thrust and low noise and vibration.

  • Patent number: 5137155
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for removing impurities from plant fibrous material which constitutes residual products in the refining of tuber or root vegetables, fruits etc. The plant fibrous material is, for forming a first substance, adjusted to a TS content of at least approx. 25% whereafter the first substance is fractionated in a first screening device to form a first fraction. The TS content of the first fraction is reduced, for the formation of a first mass, whereafter the mass is dried, for the formation of a second substance. This is fractionated in a second screening device to form a second fraction which substantially exclusively consists of plant fibres.
