  • Patent number: 9826950
Abstract: A method to adjust or tune mechanical settings of a mammography apparatus comprising an x-ray source, a paddle and a detector with a detector cover, wherein before executing an x-ray measurement a patient's breast is placed and compressed between the detector cover and the paddle, wherein prior to the x-ray measurement reaction forces between the mammography apparatus and the patient's breast are minimized. The invention relates further to a mammography apparatus comprising an x-ray source, a paddle and a detector with a detector cover, which apparatus is provided with at least one weighing means to measure the downwards forces exerted by (the part of) the apparatus above the weighing means towards the ground.

  • Patent number: 5280141
Abstract: A pressure compensating device includes a hermetically encapsulated weighing cell for neutralizing an excess pressure or a negative pressure within the encapsulation relative to a surrounding space. A pressure compensating diaphragm is connected to a protective housing in an essentially sealing manner, but without significant resistance and non-deformable relative to an initial tension. The pressure compensating diaphragm is of an extremely flexible material and the surface area thereof is large relative to the dimensions of the encapsulation. The pressure-compensating device preferably is a structural group mounted on the protective housing in which at least one pressure-compensating diaphragm is arranged so as to be protected against mechanical or chemical damage.

  • Patent number: 5232061
Abstract: A vibration attenuation device serves to damp in a two-stage manner with a non-linear spring characteristic a pair of relatively movable components, such as the weighing pan and the weighing pan carrier of a scale. First and second stage resilient compressible means extend different distances from one side of a base member for successive activation by the components as they are displaced together, thereby to produce a vibration behavior that approximates the inherent frequency of the weighing scale.

  • Patent number: 5205369
Abstract: A force measuring cell includes a force receiving member (4) in the form of a parallelogram type deviating member the opposed ends of which are connected between the weighing pan carrier and the housing of a weighing apparatus. A fastening member (8) is provided having a fastening portion (8a) adapted for removable connection with either the housing member or the pan carrier member, and a connecting portion (8b) adapted for connection with the deviating member, the fastening and connecting portions being decoupled by a narrow transition zone (8c), whereby the fastening force or stress is virtually isolated from the connecting area.
