  • Patent number: 4066220
Abstract: An apparatus is disclosed for storing and feeding copy paper for a copying machine in which the copy paper is stored in roll form and is cut to desired length by measuring and cutting mechanism provided in the copying machine. The portion of the apparatus which supports the roll of copy paper is partially removable from the copying machine in order to make it accessible for loading relatively heavy rolls of copy paper into the storage apparatus, and the supporting structure for the copy paper roll is such that there are no end caps to fit over the ends of the core for the roll of copy paper thereby facilitating handling of the roll of copy paper.

  • Patent number: 4007984
Abstract: A method and device for handling an endless, flexible, articulated belt of photoconductive material. The belt is continuously moving, and a housing is provided to store the greater portion of the belt which is not being run through copier machinery. A pair of feed rollers feeds a quantity of belt material returning from the copier machine to the housing, and a pair of dispensing rollers are synchronized with the feed rollers so as to eject a like quantity of belt material to the copier. Therefore, although the portion of the belt within the housing is continuously changing, the unit mass of material within the housing remains substantially constant. The photoconductive belt is uniquely fan-folded within the housing to provide a compact bundle of material, and the bundle is made to reciprocally translate within the housing, as the belt is fed to, and dispensed from, the housing.

  • Patent number: 3957220
Abstract: An apparatus for receiving flat sheet material seriatim and storing the material in rolled configuration on a winding spool. A suitable winding spool is mounted on a frame for rotation, and a plurality of endless belts are mounted on the frame so that a portion thereof is wrapped almost entirely around the spool and another portion is disposed away from the spool to form an entrance portion of the belts adjacent the surface of the winding spool where the belts are tangential thereto. When the belts are driven, sheet material fed between the belts and the peripheral surface of the winding spool and is wrapped around the winding spool and retained thereon for storage.

  • Patent number: 3948458
Abstract: A reel for cable and the like has a tubular core portion having opposite open ends and a hollow interior formed with reinforcing ribs. A pair of end flanges is provided, each having a radially inner annular flange portion which is cupped so as to a have an open side facing axially inwardly of the core portion and which is, in part, received in one of the open ends, and a radially outer annular flange portion which is cupped so as to have an open side facing axially of the core portion and which has an outer circumferential edge face. Connecting portions connect the end flanges to the core portion.

  • Patent number: 3944215
Abstract: To rotate sheet engaging means such as a roller disposed in engagement with an outermost sheet of a stack sheets in a receptacle, there is provided sheet feeding apparatus including first and second rotatable members, wherein the first member has inwardly and outwardly facing surface portions which respectively define oppositely facing paths of travel when the first member is rotated, and wherein the second member is disposed in the respective paths of travel. The surface portions of the first member are arranged relative to one another to permit one of them to rotate the first member in one direction and the other of them to rotate the first member in the opposite direction, when the first member is rotated in a given direction. Since the second member may be connected to a sheet engaging roller for rotating the roller in opposite directions, the sheet feeding apparatus is usable in buckle-loop sheet feeding systems.
