  • Patent number: 10975880
Abstract: A blower for a respiratory apparatus includes an impeller configured to rotate to pressurize the supply of gas. The impeller includes a shroud with a plurality of vanes extending from a surface of the shroud toward the gas inlet. Each vane radiates outwards from a hub in the shroud that is configured to receive a motor shaft. The outer diameter of the shroud varies between maximum portions with a maximum outer diameter and minimum portions with a minimum outer diameter. The maximum portions are located at the vanes and the minimum portions are located between the vanes. In addition, each vane has an intermediate point located a predetermined distance from the hub that marks the beginning of a curvature of the vane in the direction of the impeller's rotation. The curvature of the vane is located between the intermediate point and the radially outermost end of the vane.

  • Publication number: 20200384232
Abstract: A patient interface comprises a frame, a headgear, a manifold and two nasal prongs. The frame may be recessed from the face of the patient, and preferably from the manifold so that the manifold may deform or move with respect to the face of the patient. The manifold may be further configured to be compliant in the direction of engagement with the patient's face, such as in the anterior direction. These features may allow the manifold to engage with the face of the patient, such as the upper lip, without exerting a significant pressure which may lead to patient discomfort. The manifold may also be configured to be rotatable with respect to the frame, for example by a grip feature which may be configured to be held in one hand for rotation.

  • Patent number: 10507560
Abstract: A positioning apparatus for positioning a tactile or optical roughness sensor, a probe or some other measuring instrument with respect to a workpiece can be secured to a movement device of a coordinate measuring machine. The positioning apparatus has a drive that produces a relative movement between two parts of the positioning apparatus, and an inhibiting device, which inhibits the relative movement between the two parts. For this purpose, the inhibiting device has a first friction element and a second friction element each having unlubricated friction surfaces. The friction surfaces are pressed against one another with a normal force that is not variable during the operation of the positioning apparatus. A coefficient of sliding friction that is less than 0.15 acts between the friction surfaces in the case of dryness and without lubrication. Typically, the inhibiting device is arranged in a flexspline of a strain wave gearing.
